I walked along the river bank
Not wanting to even wet my feet
The grass between my toes felt warm
Sunshine beckoned me walk on
And coolness of the flowing stream
Drew me closer to the muddy bank
The mucky shore sucked up my steps
I slowed down from my heavy feet
Not liking to be burdened so
I turned to enter the water
The mud came off in the current
The water was cool and soothing
Along the shore I wandered slow
And watched the spawning fish gather
The heat of the day upon me
I ventured deeper to my calf
Toasted crisp in the blazing sun
I waded in up to my neck
Pushed by the strong current downstream
I did not resist nor struggle
At last I forged into the depths
My feet moved freely not touching
And I was whisked along freely
Falling prey to the forced movement
Suspended and so unable
I surrender to the embrace
Enveloped in the deeper depths
I no longer want to struggle
I love you my brother and friend
I am carried by your desire
Taking away burdens and stress
You become the way of my life
